Annual Meeting

The 2016 annual meeting and potluck was held on November 5th at 6 PM at the Trinity United Church of Christ, 60 West High Street in Gettysburg. The keynote speaker will be Sarah Kipp, Conservation Coordinator for the Land Conservancy of Adams County. Her talk will be entitled: “Gap Year: Inspiring appreciation and perspective of home and community.”

The 2008 annual meeting and potluck was held on Saturday, November 1, at at 6 pm at the Trinity United Church of Christ. Denise Weldon-Siviy was our featured speaker. Denise is a former ICPJ Board Chair and Peace Camp Director, and is the Community Outreach Liaison for the Gettysburg Community Soup Kitchen. She spoke on Peace and Poverty.

The 2007 annual meeting and potluck was held on Saturday, November 3, at 6 pm at the Trinity United Church of Christ. Reverend Sandra R. Mackie, our featured speaker, showed slides and discussed what she experienced and learned on her trip to Iran last year as part of the Civilian Peacemaking Delegation of the Fellowship of Reconciliation.  Her presentation, “A Call to Peace: Breaking Down Barriers to Peace through Understanding,” provided an introduction to the land, culture, and people of Iran.

The 2006 annual meeting and potluck was held on Saturday, November 4, at 6 pm, at Trinity United Church of Christ. Tarek Abuata was our speaker. Currently attending Gettysburg Lutheran Seminary, he is a Palestinian Christian attorney who has promoted non-violent efforts in Palestine. The title of his presentation was Aim High, We’ll Meet.

The 2005 annual meeting and potluck date was Saturday, October 22, 2005, at the Trinity United Church of Christ, at 6 p.m.. We inaugurated our 20th year! Dr. Louis Hammann spoke on the history of peace and justice activism in Adams County.

The 2004 annual meeting and potluck was held on November 6, 2004. Dr. Kristen Urban, professor of Political Science at Mount. St. Mary’s University, gave the keynote address and spoke about her experiences as a Fulbright Scholar in Bahrain. Click here to download the minutes of the annual meeting (pdf file).

The 2003 annual meeting and potluck was held on November 8, 2003. At the meeting, four new members were elected to the Board: Rosie Bolen, Gerry Ellefson, Kris Eyssell, and Jake Schindel. Re-elected to new three-year terms were George Gelles, Ginger Riley, and Emilio Rodriguez. Chad Close was elected to a one-year term as student representative. Dr. Rajmohan Ramanathapillai, Visiting Professor of Global Studies at Gettysburg College, gave the keynote address.
